Chobe national park is 10,566 square km. It’s a home to about 440 species of birds and 15 different species of animals which live in the mopane woodland, mixed combretum, sandveld, floodplain, grasslands and riverine woodland. Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana. The park is divided into four distinctly different eco systems: Serondela with its lush plains and dense forests in the Chobe River area in the extreme north-east; the Savuti Marsh in the west; the Linyanti Swamps in the north-west the hot dry hinterland in between.
Animals in this park include: buffalo, zebras, lechwe, bushbuck, puku antelope, lions, Hyena, leopard, giraffe, kudu, roan and sable, impala, warthog, monkeys, baboons, jackal and waterbuck
Bird species include: African fish eagles, Sacred ibis, Egyptian Geese, Spur-winged Geese, pel’s Fishing Owl, carmine Bee-eaters, Fish Eagle, Martial Eagle, finfoot and the halfcollared kingfisher
