The Kwando Reserve is one of Botswana's most famous reserves. The Kwando Concession is currently the largest private wildlife reserve in Botswana, covering 2,320km² of unfenced wilderness in the far north of the country. North of Selinda, the Kwando Reserve is an immense private reserve of mopane forests, lush riverine forest and open flood plains covering roughly 2,300km². This system is an intricate labyrinth of waterways, reed beds, islands, floodplains, bush, scrub and trees.
Animals in this park include: Wild Dog, elephant, buffalo, zebras, antelope, lions, and wildebeests, hyenas, Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Tsessebe, Giraffe, Sitatunga, Sable, Roan, Bushbuck, Red Lechwe, Waterbuck, Warthog, Sitatunga, and Antelope.
Bird species include: Aardwolf, Aardvark, Ratel, Serval, Caracal and Selous Mongoose Civet, Large- and Small-spotted Genet, Honey Badger, and Spring Hare, Nocturnal birding, especially Owls
