Moremi Wildlife Reserve covers an area of more than 5,000 square kilometres in the north-eastern corner of the Okavango Delta. The vegetation in this game reserve includes savannah, reeds, palm-covered islands, thick forest, waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands, riparian, riverine, woodland, acacia forests mophane forests and lush, lily-covered lagoons. The reserve is home to over 400 bird species and some animals. You can view all these animals by walking through the park. The wildlife of Moremi is nothing short of spectacular and the reserve includes some of Africa’s best wildlife areas including Mombo, Khwai and Xaxanaxa.
Animals in this park include: Impala, Tsessebe, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe antelope, Lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, Black and White Rhino, leopard, giraffe, hyena and jackal.
Bird species include: African fish eagles, Sacred ibis, Egyptian Geese, Spur-winged Geese, pel’s Fishing Owl, carmine Bee-eaters, Martial Eagle, finfoot and the halfcollared kingfisher
